Storm Babet Wakes Up The Middens

Surfing The Middens During Storm Babet

Storm Babet barrelled into the UK last week, causing chaos to a number of areas. After a day of 50mph+ onshore winds on Friday 20th October, the sustained huge ENE swell (25ft @ 12 seconds) brought Tynemouth’s The Middens wave to life on Saturday 21st. Lighter offshore wind meant for a big, knarled yet groomed-in-places left hander for a handful of surfers (including local legend Gabe Davies and one balls-ey paddleboarder) at this famous North East river mouth.
