Storm Babet Wakes Up The Middens

Storm Babet barrelled into the UK last week, causing chaos to a number of areas. After a day of 50mph+ onshore winds on Friday 20th October, the sustained huge ENE swell (25ft @ 12 seconds) brought Tynemouth’s The Middens wave to life on Saturday 21st. Lighter offshore wind meant for a big, knarled and groomed in places left hander for a handful of surfers.

Scottish Surfing Championships 2022 Results

The 15th-17th April saw the 2022 Scottish Surfing Championships held in Brimms Ness, Caithness. Conditions were a consistent 2-4ft west swell, with a steady offshore wind all weekend. Opens & Masters heats were run at the bowl, a right hand, heaving slab. With longboards run at both the point and the cove, Brimms more mellow offerings.

Scottish National Surfing Championships 2022

SurfDek are pleased to be supporting the Scottish National Surfing Championships this year, which will take place next weekend (15th – 17th April 2022) at Thurso East. At the time of writing this the forecast is looking pretty tasty, with two days of 4-5 foot @ 12s WNW swell and light Southerly wind.
